Tuna
The third Tuna dish inspired by Shinya Tasaki's
battle with Iron Chef Masahiko Kobe
Tuna Stewed in Red Wine, Chateau Montus ’92 (red)
Chef Tasaki first lightly fried long onions and mushrooms in a
red wine sauce. He took cubes of tuna, covered them in flour,
sautéed them in olive oil, and added the fried tuna to the stew.
Chocolate was also added for a special flavor.
Wooden Chef Recipe: Tuna Stewed in Red Wine
2 cups water
2 cups Chianti, right out of the box
1 tbl. chocolate syrup
1 tsp. garlic
1 tbl. kosher salt
4 oz. pieces of tuna
a can of whole button mushrooms
some green onions cut in 2 or 3 inch chunks
Cook all of the ingredients together in a pan.
Pour some Chianti in a plastic cup, get stewed while stewing.
When it looks done, and all the alcohol is cooked out,
arrange the mushrooms and onions on the tuna chunk
so it looks nice. No wine for the kids, they get red pop.
