  Battle Pumpkin; Third Recipe

 

Challenger Chef Kensuki Sakai's Third dish:

 

 

             3. Pumpkin Ravioli (on IC)

                 "Pumpkin Tortellini with Two Sauces (spinach/basil and tomato)”(on SM)

                          Sakai mixed pumpkin, olive oil, ground beef, ground pork, ricotta cheese, salt,

                         pepper, and dried tomatoes in a bowl. He made the green sauce by stir frying

                           spinach and basil, then mixing it with chicken broth and fresh cream. He made

           the red sauce with tomatoes and fresh cream. It came out pastel red.

Sakai rolled his tortellini to look like hats with bills.                  

   

Wooden Chef version: Mixed canned pumpkin and ricotta cheese, put into

 an eggroll wrapper, and baked in the oven. I made the green sauce from canned

spinach and basil in a jar (really quick and very good). I just used tomato sauce

for the red sauce, so my dish would look more like the Italian flag than Sakai's.
