The third lobster dish inspired by Iron Chef
Hiroyuki Sakai's battle with Tadaaki Shimizu
Roast Homard Lobster
Chef Sakai put lobster tails on red, yellow, and green bell pepper rings.
Then he covered the dish with a sauce. At one point I think Ohta said the
sauce was made from consommé of steamed lobster, fresh cream, and
lemon juice. Before the judgement I think Fukui said it was a butter sauce
made with egg yolk and veal broth. A green onion was used for garnish.
Sorry about the drawing, it was one of those cook-along things. I made a
really rough sketch when the dish was first shown, then colored it in a
bit during the commercials.
Wooden Chef's Version: Faux Lobster Whatever
O.K., I threw this one together at the last minute; pan fried imitation
lobster with an oven toasted fake lobster shell that came out too stiff
and wouldn't bend around the chunks. I didn't have green onion, so I
put a long green bean on it. I still have a lot of work to do on the fake
lobster thing. On the bright side, I had something like six of the eight
dishes in the battle and if I redid them, they'd be a lot better.
