The first lobster dish inspired by Tadaaki Shimizu's

battle with Iron Chef Hiroyuki Sakai

                                                                  Homard Lobster Tartare

I saw Chef Shimizu peel tomatoes and wrap the skins around the tip

of his knife to make the "roses" on top of cilantro for decoration.

He then mixed finely chopped raw lobster, chives, and radishes with

mayonnaise to make a lobster salad which he stuffed into the hollowed

out peeled tomatoes. He put caviar on top of the stuffed tomatoes.

Wooden Chef's Version: Peeled Tomato Filled with Lobster

This was a cook-along, so all of the matching dishes were thrown together

in a really big hurry. I had to try the rolled rose, but I forgot to get cilantro,

I used thin slices of celery for the greenery, no doubt cilantro is better .

I sautéed a batch of imitation lobster in olive oil and garlic at the start of

the battle and used it in the following dishes. The lobster, scallion, radish,

and mayonnaise salad would be vastly superior.
